DULUTH, GA.—Merial introduces a Pasteurella pneumonia product to its line of Respishield® brand vaccines. Respishield HM delivers single-dose immunity against Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida.

Respishield HM is the first single-dose bivalent to feature Tandem™ M adjuvant. Tandem™ M is a non-toxic polymer adjuvant that helps ensure antigens in Respishield HM are routed to the lymph nodes to enhance cell-mediated and humoral response.

In field trials, the company says Respishield HM reduced lung damage and increased leukotoxin neutralizing antibody titers.

Respishield HM features a 2 mL subcutaneous single-dose injection that meets beef-quality assurance guidelines. The company recommends producers revaccinate annually or prior to times of increased stress or exposure.

Respishield HM requires no mixing and can be used at any time in all stages of cattle production.

The vaccine also is approved for the Merial Surehealth® calf-reconditioning program.
