The National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues (NCVEI) just made it easier for veterinary practice owners to stay on top of their financial needs by renovating its Web site.
“The site has been given a facelift with new colors and graphics and has been reorganized to make it easier to find information customized to each kind of user, whether you work for a general practice, a referral practice, a veterinary teaching hospital, or are a veterinary student,” says NCVEI CEO Dr. Karen E. Felsted, CPA, MS, CVPM. Beginning this fall, practices will have access to the “profitability estimator,” a joint project between NCVEI and VetPartners, an association that promotes excellence and ethics in veterinary consulting and advising.
The NCVEI site allows practices to compare themselves with averages nationwide. Benchmarking tools cover a wide range of financial and operational metrics, such as revenue per doctor, compensation, benefits, management techniques, number of clients, and much more. The tools are available at www.ncvei.org and results are updated daily.
New material also was added to the Resource Library. The NCVEI will be making additional updates to the Web site over the next several months.
“Our goal is to make the NCVEI Web site the central clearinghouse for all business, economic, and management information about the veterinary profession,” Felsted says.
