YuMOVE and the Mr Mo Project partner to support senior dog adoption and health and well-being
It’s a sad reality that senior pets are often the last to be adopted. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,1 senior dogs have a 25% adoption rate compared to the 60% adoption rate of younger dogs and puppies.
To address this widespread issue, this Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, YuMOVE—a joint supplement for dogs and the American Kennel Club's official dog joint supplement—has announced in a press release2 it has teamed up with the Mr Mo Project—a senior rescue dog nonprofit.
The Mr Mo Project rescues and advocates for senior dogs and special-needs dogs from US shelters and helps them find loving homes. The organization facilitates transport, sources foster families, and brings attention to senior dogs in US shelters while also offering continual support and covering veterinary bills for the dogs’ entire lives.2 YuMOVE has donated funds and its joint care supplements to support the Mr Mo Project’s efforts and help the senior dogs remain active.
The Mr Mo Project rescued Quinn, a 14-year-old wired hair German Pointer mix, from a hoarding house along with 55 other dogs, when he was just a puppy. “Quinn has a big personality and so much love and energy,” YuMOVE stated in the release.2
As Quinn grew up, he began suffering from mobility issues and struggled to move. YuMOVE supplements have empowered him to get back to operating as usual and have mobility again. "After only a few months on YuMOVE, we've seen visible results with Quinn's activity," shared Chris Hughes, founder, Mr Mo Project.2 "YuMOVE has shown us the ability to help our dogs stay mobile, and this is why we chose to partner with them. Senior dogs can experience mobility related issues and YuMOVE helps to support these dogs be more active as we find new homes with loving families for them."
