Petland locations in Oklahoma City and Tulsa partnered with Boondogs Rescue to raise public awareness for local adoptions
Petland Oklahoma City and Petland Tulsa announced a new partnership with Oklahoma rescue, Boondogs Rescue, to support local adoptions. According to an organizational release,1 these 2 Petland locations will offer adoptable pets from the rescue center to help raise public awareness for these pets in need of a new home.
If someone adopts a pet from Petland, the company will provide a free spay or neuter procedure at an approved veterinarian clinic and a free veterinary exam. The adopted pet will also be microchipped and enrolled in a leading lost and found recovery database. Petland will offer a free lifetime training program for the pet as well.
"Rescues work tirelessly to protect and care for abandoned pets in our local communities. We are grateful to aid Boondogs Rescue knowing they have limited resources and are doing great work in the areas they serve," Carl Swanson, owner of both Petland locations in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, stated in the release.1
The company will also make an additional financial donation to Boondogs Rescue for every dog adopted. Before this adoption partnership, Petland Oklahoma City and Petland Tulsa have made other donations to Boondogs Rescue since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This local rescue, like many others across the country, struggled to maintain enough resources for the homeless animals during the pandemic. To help the rescue center, Petland donated dog food to help with any resource shortages.
"Petland has really stepped up and we are excited to see their willingness to make room for our dogs and find them homes with customers," said Janet Donnelly, director of Boondogs Rescue, in the release, "This is wonderful and we are so happy to be a part of this with Petland."1
