Meridian, Idaho
-- The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) is offering up its services in May to a group that never fails in its service to others.
Guide dogs, handicap assistance dogs, detection dogs, and search and rescue dogs will be able to take part in the second annual ACVO National Service Dog Eye Exam Day in various locations the week of May 3. Dogs must be certified “working dogs” through a formal training program or organization to qualify. Owners can register for the free sight screenings beginning April 1 at www.acvoeyeexam.org.
The free screenings will involve more than 250 board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists and is sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, OPTIGEN and Kong Veterinary Products.
