Teens shoot at bear, tiger

Article

Lucky for them, they live to tell about it.

In what fortunately didn't end in a repeat of the San Francisco Zoo tiger maulings, witnesses saw and heard a 17 year old and a 14 year old scale a fence and shoot a rare white tiger and a black bear with pellets at the 10-acre Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

The boys were subsequently nabbed by police on a road leading from the zoo with weapons that looked similar to real weapons.

Authorities remarked that the kids were lucky they didn't get attacked by the animals or shot mistakenly by police assuming the Airsoft pellet guns were real handguns. At press time, the teens had been charged with multiple weapons counts.

Neither the 11-year-old tiger Ganesha nor the 12-year-old bear Holly were seriously injured.
