When it comes to pet surgeries, skin masses and tooth extractions rule, according to new data from Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI). The company examined its database of 485,000 insured pets to determine the top 10 dog and cat surgery claims submitted last year. The results:

2. Skin abscess, inflammation, or pressure ulcer (11,178)
3. Tooth extraction (9,476)
4. Torn ACL or cartilage (6,782)
5. Malignant skin mass (4,120)
