CSU Listeria study garners $2-million grant

UC-Davis secures full accreditation
May 1st 2005DAVIS, CALIF. — The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) restored the University of California at Davis' (UC-Davis) School of Veterinary Medicine to full accreditation after almost seven years. The school had been on limited accreditation since the summer of 1998, when the AVMA cited inadequate facilities for teaching, research and clinical care.

Vandals upend University of Iowa lab
January 1st 2005IOWA CITY, IOWA—Hundreds of research animals were stolen from the University of Iowa's Spence Laboratories Nov. 14, when vandals took rodents, trashed computers and dumped chemicals throughout various wings of the facility. The Animal Liberation Front (ALF) allegedly claimed responsibility for the theft and damage, which the university was unable to assess at presstime.
Court throws out gender claim in UC-Davis suit
December 1st 2004Davis, Calif.-On Oct. 18, the Court of Appeal of the State of California, Third Appellate District, dismissed Dr. Carol Mandell's accusations of gender discrimination and national origin discrimination, but it said there is sufficient evidence to pursue an age discrimination case.
