New data shows how much management consultants are costing veterinarians.
Data released at the Association for Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors (AVPMCA) mid-year meeting in Kansas City, Mo., provides background information on the types of services that management consultants provide to the veterinary profession—and on the general costs for such services.
The data, compiled by Lou Gatto, CPA; Dr. Karl Salzsieder, JD; and Jim Remillard, MPA, CVPM, educates AVPMCA members about the rates their colleagues charge and reveals large price differences among veterinary consultants. Remillard says this is partly because consultants figure charges differently. Keep that in mind as you consider the following data. "Some consultants charge consulting fees plus travel costs, while others charge a higher consulting rate but don't charge travel fees on top," he explains.
