Covetrus appoints new CFO and executive VP

Covetrus, a company focusing on animal-health technology and services, has named Ajoy Karna, MBA, as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). His responsibilities in the new role will include spearheading the finance, accounting, and auditing functions, plus the IT and cybersecurity teams with his leadership extending throughout shared service and centers of excellence functions.

Prior to joining the Covetrus team, Karna worked for Sysco Corporation for a decade and held various senior finance and strategic leadership positions, including senior vice president of finance for international, plus the company’s North American foodservice distribution businesses. He was also CEO of Sysco’s European operations. Before being with Sysco, Karna worked for over 20 years at PepsiCo leading global finance, strategy, and mergers and acquisition teams.

Karna received an undergraduate degree in finance from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University.
