The global medical technology company says the acquisition provides a strong entry point into the veterinary space and will help expand existing therapeutic and diagnostic solutions.
DJO, a global provider of medical technologies, has acquired LiteCure, the parent company of Companion Animal Health, with a goal of commercializing their globally-recognized products into innovative care solutions for veterinary applications.
“The acquisition by DJO provides us with an immediate international footprint, additional products that align well with our existing portfolio, and added resources to help us continue to improve the lives of veterinarians, pets, and their owners,” Craig Tockman, DVM, president of Companion Animal Health,” said in a press release.
LiteCure, based in Delaware, designs and manufactures medical equipment for human and veterinary medicine and is an industry leader in veterinary laser therapy. The company’s mission is to provide innovative solutions to both medical and veterinary professionals.
“Together, we will bring leading technologies and treatment modalities designed to enhance patient outcomes and practice efficiency to veterinary clinics around the world,” said president of DJO Sciences Terry Ross, MBA, in the release.
