In an interview at the 2023 Fetch dvm360 Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, faculty member Roger Layman, AIA NCARB, managing principal, RL Architecture PLLC, explained how daylight can often be a forgotten design element in hospitals, but makes a more calming environment for staff, clients, and patients.

Roger Layman, AIA NCARB: Daylight. It's got to be daylight. It has such great calming properties for staff and animals. So many times we find the treatment room in the hub, in the center of the building, with no daylight.
