Photo gallery: 8 great looks for your reception area (part 2)

This photo tour gives you a look a eight reception areas and advice from veterinary architect Mark Hafen, AIA, about what key decisions you should make about your own.

Prior to the 1970s and 1980s, it was considered taboo for veterinary clinics to market their services and products. This photo, taken in the mid-1980s, shows a transitional period when veterinarians tried to figure out what kind of marketing was appropriate. “This reception area is way too commercial and glitzy,” Hafen says. “It's not professional. All of these design elements are crying out, ‘Look at me!'”
