My treatment area is on the small side, and I wish I could give myself more space to work. Is there a better way to arrange my equipment and supplies so I'm not tripping over everything?

"Treatment areas tend to collect clutter," says board member Wayne Usiak, AIA, a senior partner at BDA Architecture in Albuquerque, N.M. To address this issue, he recommends building a 5-foot-by-5-foot closet in the corner of the room big enough to park equipment on rollers, such as gurneys, IVs, and anesthesia machines. About 4 feet up, install 1-foot-deep, U-shaped shelves to store boxed supplies. Then hide it all behind a sliding pocket door.
