UC gets Gates grant for global health school

Purdue veterinary school plans 2009 Dog Days of Summer

AVMA plans site visit in Mexico
November 1st 2008SCHAUMBURG, ILL. - The American Veterinary Medical Assocation's Council on Education (COE) granted a request from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UnAM) for a site visit, which is a preliminary step in the accreditation process. The COE made a consultative visit in 2006, after which it made recommendations for what the school could do - such as facilities upgrades and curriculum completion - to receive accreditation.
Auburn clinic cited for improper fund use
November 1st 2008Montgomery, Ala. - Auburn University was criticized in a report by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts for not properly documenting revenues from pet-food sales at its small-animal hospital. The report also questioned the use of some of those funds.
CVMB moves forward with RVT test requirement change
October 29th 2008The California Veterinary Medical Board (CVMB) officially approved a regulatory change Oct. 22 that will allow veterinary assistants with five years of clinical experience and at least 24 hours of formal education to take the California State Registered Veterinary Technician Exam between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2009.
